DEGREE OFFERED
Presently, ACVM, Jaipur offers undergraduate degree of B.V.Sc. & A.H. only. The college has revised its course curriculum as per the new syllabus prescribed by VCI and complies to all MSVE norms with effect from the current intake of the batch in 2009. In the near future, the college intends to initiate Master's and Doctoral courses. The college also proposes to conduct refreshers and specified courses for qualified Veterinarians in various subjects to cater the needs for livestock health and management under arid and semi arid conditions. Short term specialized courses on equines and canines will be initiated on demand.

The B.V.Sc. & A.H. Course is of five-year duration (Four and half year course spread in 9 semesters and six month of compulsory internship as per recommendation of Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi).

ELIGIBILITY

As per VCI norms Candidates must fulfill the following conditions for admission to B.V.Sc.&A.H. programme.
(a)     Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31- December of the year of admission.
(b)    Candidates must have passed the senior higher secondary examination conducted by a Statutory Board under the 10 +2 pattern of          secondary education or any other examination recognized to be its equivalent (equivalent to Class XII of 10 +2 pattern). The candidates          must have 50% ofthe aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in this qualifying examination.
(c)    He/She shall have to qualify the Pre-Veterinary Test for admission.
(d)   Candidates who have appeared in any of the aforesaid qualifying examinations but whose results have not been declared before the         commencement of the Pre-Veterinary Test, may be given provisional permission to appear at the Pre-Veterinary Test.
Note: The relevant original certificates, which are basis for the eligibility of the candidate, will have to be furnished by the candidate.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admissions are made under two categories :-

1.General category (30 seats):-  Admission are made by the Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner on the basis of pre veterinary test    conducted on the instructions of the state government.

Pre-Veterinary Test
 All candidates will have to appear at the Pre-Veterinary Test to be held in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany.
 Registration by admission Board: The Dean shall call candidates eligible for admission to appear before the admission board after the       Pre- Veterinary test result is declared. The candidates found unsuitable by the admission Board will be rejected.
Admission of the Candidates who have passed qualifying examination from University/Board of the State other than Rajasthan will be       admitted provisionally till the University issues the eligibility certificate.

2. Management category (30 seats) : Admissions are made by ACVM on the basis of entrance test. Entrance test will be conducted by ACVM     for candidates seeking admission under management seats. Test to be held in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and     Botany.Notification for the same is issued by the ACVM through regional and national dailies.

EXAMINATION SYSTEM
Both internal and external examinations  (50 : 50).
End semester examination (internal) and annual final examination (external).
Grading system - 10 point scale.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS FOR B.V.Sc. & A.H.

The course requirements and examination rules given below are on the basis of the Veterinary Council of India (Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course-B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 1993, as published in extraordinary gazette of India Part II-Section 3-sub-section (i) dated 7.2.1993. Every care has been taken to follow the above mentioned regulations while framing these rules for easy and convenient understanding of students, nevertheless, interpretation of the university/its authorities and VCI shall be final and binding in the matter, in accordance to above mentioned regulations. 

  1. The degree course of BVSc & AH shall comprise of course of study spread over complete five academic years (Four and a half year course work spread over 9 semesters and compulsory internship of 6 calendar months duration.
